Ruchi Grover was born in Panipat, India, on 16 April 1982. On 4 September 1993, at the age of eleven, Ruchi came in contact with a high-voltage power line due to a television antenna which had fallen from a house. She lost her mother and her older brother in the accident. Ruchi fought for her life during the two months she stayed at a hospital in New Delhi. She lost her arms, her earlobes as well as a part of her scalp and hair. She ran her household completely on her own.
Ruchi had learned the art of sewing with a normal sewing machine and makes suits, saris and bags. It was at the age of sixteen, she learned to paint with oil colour under a local painter. A small exhibition was held at the local level, during which she was able to sell her paintings and other products. Ruchi had been a member of MFPA from February 2016 and she passed away by the end of the same year.
