“Abstract”

-Acrylic on Canvas, Mouth Painted

Art by Jeremias Jesias Bezuidenhout

Mouth Artist from South Africa

Jeramias Jesias Bezuidenhout was born on 14 February 1968 in Ogies, South Africa. In 2001, he had an accident in a swimming pool where he suffered an injury to his neck at the height of the C4, C5 and C6 vertebrae. He was completely paralysed from the neck down including the lower extremities (quadriplegic). He had to use an electric wheelchair to move around. At the suggestion of his wife, who is an art teacher herself, he began to study mouth painting in 2007 and found that it appealed to him. The artist’s creations currently focus on South Africa’s wildlife, in particular birds done in acrylics.
