Laxmi Sanjay Shinde was born in the Solapur district of Maharashtra without hands. Her father is a rickshaw puller, and her mother is a housewife. She has three sisters and one brother. Despite growing up in a financially strained household, her parents taught her to write and do all tasks independently.
In the 8th grade, a teacher introduced her to painting, sparking her interest in the art form. Despite limited resources, Laxmi practiced drawing as much as she could outside of class. Today, she creates beautiful artwork and is well on her way to realizing her dream of becoming an accomplished artist. She joined MFPA as a provisional artist in June 2024.
