Romeo

A very handsome good boy is on the way to becoming a gentleman. The painting ‘Romeo’ is a wholesome creation with the utmost cuteness! It depicts a dog with a rose in its mouth, a portrait as pure as the driven snow. The intricate detailing on the subject and an ordinary background give an aesthetic peek into the artist’s imagination. Curated by mouth painting artist Ferdinand PRINS, oil on canvas, this masterwork captures the selfless emotions of love, care, affection and gratefulness.

“Romeo”

-Oil on Canvas, Mouth Painted

Art by Ferdinand Prins

Mouth Artist from South Africa

Ferdinand Prins was born in 1962 in Paarl (South Africa). After attending and completing primary school he trained to become an electrical technician. In 1984, Prins had a diving accident and suffered a grave spinal cord injury at the height of the C5 vertebra, affecting motor and sensory functions. Since then he has been living in homes for the disabled and is presently living at the Quasar home for tetraplegic persons. In late 2008, encouraged by art teacher Marthie Vos Westraadt, he decided to start painting with the mouth. Painting was meant to broaden his occupational horizon, which it did and still does to this day.
