Description

This piece is a captivating fusion of bold lines and interlocking shapes. Vibrant swirls of warm yellows, reds, and oranges contrast with cooler tones of blues and greens. The curving, ribbon-like lines weave through sharp angles and blocks of color, creating a sense of movement that feels both chaotic and harmonious. The abstraction invites the viewer to interpret the interplay of motion and structure, reflecting the tension between spontaneity and control.

Art by Klaus Spahni

Mouth Artist from Switzerland

Klaus Spahni was born on 20 June 1940 in Willisau. He contracted polio when he was nine years old, which left his arms and legs totally paralysed. During his physiotherapy in Zurich, he found pleasure in painting. In addition, he took art lessons with a famous artist in order to perfect his skills in free painting. He continued his training abroad in Rome, Paris and Spain. Due to his paralysis, his physical freedom of movement was very restricted. "On the canvas, however, I can walk, hop, jump and dance," he says.
