Art by Lars Höllerer
Mouth Artist from Germany
Lars Höllerer attended primary and secondary school and then a two-year business school. In Mai 1991, three months after he had completed his military service, he had a grave motorcycle accident. He has been paraplegic ever since. At the rehabilitation centre he taught himself to paint with his mouth. Subsequently he enrolled at an art academy where he found inspiration for his artistic work. Lars mostly creates expressionist paintings and modern or abstract paintings, working in oils on canvas. These works are partly painted over ink. His landscapes and still lives are frequently created based on the technique of naive painting.
